Yes, there is an elevator at the Waldgasthof Buchenhain. There are two flights of stairs to get there.
The Waldgasthof Buchenhain in Baierbrunn is located between Schäftlarn and Pullach on the southern outskirts of Munich, directly on the Isar River. The inn is easily accessible by car or public transport. You can find more information on how to get there. here.

Your booked room will be available from 15 pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, you may use the room until 11 am. If you have any further questions, please contact our reception team by phone at +49 (0) 89-7448840 or via email info@hotelbuchenhain.de We are available from 6:30 a.m. to 23:30 p.m. There is an emergency number at night where you can always reach someone. Early arrival or late departure is also possible upon request.

You are welcome to borrow an iron and ironing board from reception.
Some rooms have a balcony (1 single room, 1 full-size room, 2 double rooms and our family suite).

Our beer garden seats approximately 800 people and is divided into two sections. There's a waiter-service section and a self-service section. In the waiter-service section, we serve Bavarian dishes daily from 11.30:23.00 a.m. to 21:22 p.m. (hot meals until XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., snacks until XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.). At the rear of the garden is our self-service section with its own bar truck, charcoal grill, and snack hut serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, and cakes. The self-service section is open on weekends and public holidays when the weather is nice.
Payment for your stay can be made in cash on site, by debit card, or with all major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Amex). A deposit is not required prior to arrival, and your credit card will not be charged prior to arrival. We are happy to provide you with an extra baby cot. The cost is a one-time fee of €20,00.
Our rooms are not wheelchair accessible. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible via a ramp. The beer garden is wheelchair accessible.

Yes, families are very welcome! Our spacious family rooms offer plenty of space for guests of all ages. Children's discounts are also available – just mention them when booking. In the beer garden, the little ones will find plenty of space to play while the grown-ups enjoy a beer. And with events like the Forest Festival and St. Nicholas Eve, there's guaranteed to be no boredom.
Our Waldgasthof is surrounded by greenery, directly adjacent to Forstenrieder Park – a paradise for walkers, hikers, and cyclists. Those who like sports can cycle along the Isar trails or let off steam at the nearby climbing garden. Cultural attractions are available in Munich's city center (approx. 20 minutes by S-Bahn), for example, with the German Museum or a visit to HofbräuhausFor nature lovers, excursions to the Five Lakes Region or the Isar River High Bank are worthwhile—all easily accessible and guaranteed away from the hustle and bustle of the city. An information folder with excursion destinations, as well as all the necessary flyers and information brochures, are available at reception.

You can party in the beer garden until 23.00 p.m., and indoors until midnight. From midnight onwards, we charge a nightly flat rate of €24.00 until 24.00 a.m.
Our breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. We focus on regional Bavarian specialties from the surrounding area. Our coffee and tea come from the traditional Dallmayr Coffee Roastery, we get our bread and rolls from the Munich Bakery GattingerWe source our fresh sausage and cheese from our partners, the Tegernseer Land Natural Cheese Dairy and Butcher Magnus Bauch from Munich. The breakfast eggs come directly from the neighborhood, from “Bertenbauer” from Dietramszell.

The Waldgasthof doesn't have its own fitness room. Beautiful jogging and cycling trails start right outside the hotel, leading along the Isar River or through the Wild Boar Park. ISARFIT is located near our Hotel Grünwald in Schäftlarn (approx. 4 kilometers away). An indoor and outdoor swimming pool as well as saunas can be found in the nearby Pullach leisure pool and in the Grünwald Leisure Park.

We have a garage for bicycles where you can store and charge them free of charge. There is no separate garage for cars. However, there is a large parking lot directly in front of our forest inn where you can park your car.

If you would like to bring your dog with you during your stay, please let us know before your arrival. There will be an additional charge of €20,00 per night per pet. Only one dog per room (or two small dogs) is permitted. Cats and other pets are not permitted.

In our restaurant, we serve Bavarian cuisine, both classic and traditional, as well as creative specialties. We place great emphasis on quality, freshness, and regionality. Free cancellation (outside of trade fair periods) is possible up to two days before arrival for bookings of a maximum of two nights. After that, we charge a cancellation fee of 80% for all booked services.
Cancellation deadlines may vary when booking multiple rooms, for longer stays, or for specific events (Oktoberfest, trade fairs, etc.). Please refer to your individual reservation confirmation or contact us in advance for details.

Whether it’s a forest festival, a jazz evening or a church fair – there’s (almost) always something going on! Calendar of Events You can find all current events on our website. Particularly popular are our forest festival in July, the classic car gathering in spring and fall, the Buchenhain Forest Christmas during Advent, and the large New Year's Eve menu.
